Groups

At RCC, we believe real life change happens in the context of relationships and the place this takes place is in small groups. Small groups are a place where friendships can begin to feel like family so that RCC can grow larger and also grow smaller at the same time.  Groups are also a place to grow, a place to connect, and a place to protect.

In the early church, they worshipped in the temple but ministry happened house to house.

You know that I have not hesitated to preach anything that would be helpful to you but have taught you publicly and from house to house.”  Acts 20:20

HOW SMALL GROUPS WORK

Free Market Groups

Our groups are as varied as we are; group leaders use their gifts and passions to create a group that allows others to join with them in growing spiritually and relationally.  From riding motorcycles or playing ultimate frisbee to Financial Peace or studying specific books of the Bible whatever your age, interest, or location there is a group that is just right for you.

Semester Groups and Community Groups

New groups start three times a year—spring, summer and fall semesters.  Each semester is kicked off with a promotion month (January, May, & August) and lasts 8-12 weeks.  During the promotion month, groups are listed in a printed Small Group brochure and online. Individuals can sign up during Sunday service, online, or the RCC mobile app.

At the end of a semester, the group decides if they want to stay together, and if they choose to, it becomes a Community Group that stays together for 18-24 months.

How do I lead a group?

Group leaders team up with the pastors and staff of RCC to pastor and care for people.  So to lead a group, a person must regularly attend RCC and have completed Growth Track. Then they actively apprentice under a group leader for a minimum of a year before being considered for leadership.
